Forrester’s recent blog highlights that 43% of SMBs identify supporting more mobile devices or smart phones as one key initiative this year. Enabling employees to be mobile is a great way for SMBs to increase productivity inside and outside of the office.
But what about security concerns? According to Symantec, 42% of SMBs have lost confidential/proprietary information in the past 12 months and 62% of them admitted to have lost mobile devices…
There is no doubt that SMBs know that they should protect their mobile devices against unauthorized access (cyber attacks or lost/stolen devices)… But do they know they can do that AND comply with the growing number of data privacy laws calling for the protection of electronic data?
Now they do…
Seagate just announced the first US government certified self-encrypting laptop drive (FIPS 140-2 certified Momentus SED) for Notebook systems. Seagate continues to recognize the need to enable SMBs to embrace mobility in the workplace, but it won’t be at the cost of more security breaches…
