Goldilocks’ storage sanity check

Though I work in a world that revolves around the virtues of everything digital, my kids always enjoy reading a good old fashioned book. Funny, you can get some great storage analogies from children’s books.  Take for instance Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The struggle of Goldilocks to find the chair, porridge, and bed that was “just right” for her is similar to what small business owners go through in finding solutions to protect their data.

The way I see it, there are features that make a solution “just right” for small business especially when it comes to offering more than just backup:

  • Networked – consider Network Attach Storage so, you can house all of your data and backup to a central location
  • Secure Remote Access – secure access via a web browser satisfies the need to access and protect your files when outside the office.
  • Automated – make the process as easy as possible by choosing a solution that does the work for you.
  • Scalable – enabling you to invest in what they need today, while protecting your investment long term.
  • Reliable – choose a solution that offers great support options and a solid warranty.

With storage, it’s all about killing many birds with one stone. Choosing the right one will save your small business time and money over the long haul.

What stone will you use?
